The space requirements of the 21st World Petroleum Congress are one of the primary components when choosing the host venue.
The Crocus Expo International Centre is the largest venue in Moscow and provides 50,000 sqm exhibtion space and facilities for the up to 6000 expected delegates and 25,000 visitors at the 21st WPC in June 2014. Opened in 2004, this modern venue is located within a thirty minute ride from Moscow city centre and easily reachable by metro and the shuttle buses during the event. As part of the Crocus City comples, it includes three main pavillions, an on-site hotel, a concert hall and a shopping mall. Parking is available at the venue for more than 15,00 cars.
The Congress will have exclusive use of Pavilion 3, with all facilities under one roof. The ground floor provides an ideal space for up to 8000 peoples in the concert hall which will be used for the plenaries and keynote events. It also houses 50,000 square meters of exhibition space in three halls. The Congress rooms will be located on the third floor with all participants having access to the 20,000 places in the restaurant level on the second floor.
