The Secretariat
(i) The Secretariat shall be situated in London
or such other city as shall be determined by the
Council. Where Council determines that the location
of the Secretariat be moved, a minimum of one
year’s notice is required to permit contractual
arrangements to be made for staff and premises.
(ii) The Director-General shall be appointed by the Council
and shall be the Chief Executive
of the WPC and shall report
to the President. He/she shall have responsibility for
the activities of the Secretariat,
including the recruitment
and supervision of other members of staff, the servicing
of all Council and committee
meetings, the establishment
and maintenance of all accounting
and other records, the
implementation of Council
and committee decisions,
liaison with the World Petroleum Congress Host Country
and support
of National Committees.
