The World Petroleum Council has appointed the London-based publisher FIRST to produce the Official Publication of the 20th World Petroleum Congress. Held in Doha, Qatar from the 4-8 December the 20th WPC will be the highlight on the oil and gas calendar for 2011.
Following the theme of the Congress "Energy Solutions for All - Promoting Cooperation, Innovation and Investment" the Official Publication of the 20th World Petroleum Congress will examine the strategic issues facing the oil and gas sector with case studies and commentary from a distinguished panel of CEOs, government officials and energy experts. Covering the key topics on cooperation, innovation and investment to be discussed at the Congress, it will provide a valuable reference source for delegates who will attend the Congress as well as more than 60 member countries of the World Petroleum Council, who represent over 95% of the world’s major oil and gas producing and consuming countries.
The editorial team will be led by David Buchan, the well respected journalist, industry analyst and author of "Energy and Climate Change: Europe at the Crossroads" and the "Rough Guide to the Energy Crisis". "We are delighted to appoint such an experienced publishing team to deliver a world-class publication for the participants of the 20th World Petroleum Congress, which highlights the WPC's important role in tackling the key issues facing the global oil and gas industry though dialogue and thought leadership", said the Director-General of the World Petroleum Council, Dr. Pierce Riemer.
