New Online Youth Discussion Forum launched!
"WPC Youth Connect" was recently set up to provide an online platform for young people to contribute their thoughts and ideas to some of the key concepts of oil an gas sector which will be addressed at the 20th World Petroleum Congress in Doha, Qatar this December.
Join the discussions and be a part of the event at the website: www.wpcyouthconnect.com
A similar network was used to build momentum for the 2nd WPC Youth Forum held in Paris in November 2009, when the WPC set up a "facebook type" online youth network at www.energiseyourfuture.com to allow young people everywhere to contribute their thoughts and opinions to the debates on a sustainable future for the petroleum industry. Through the social networking and discussion forums on "EnergiseMyNetwork" over 2000 young people were able to contribute content to the plenaries and workshops in Paris. This web 2.0 participative online tool helped develop an active community of concerned professionals across the world, to share ideas and information about the industry's key challenges and opportunities , launching new debates, and building the event programme.
The network is now no longer live and we are continuing the exciting debates on the energy scenarios by 2050, the ethical and social responsibility of the oil and gas sector, as well as the future leadership of the industry on www.wpcyouthconnect.com
